What to use when cleaning exhaust manifold

Well i have a ebay stainless exhaust manifold and its got oil and other stuff burned all over it. I was tryin to think of the best thing to use when cleaning it. I dont think brake cleaners gonna do the trick. I was thinking bout sandblasting it but dont know how well thats gonna work. Does anyone know of any tricks to gettin them decently clean.. thanks

try a brilo pad and see if that takes the mess off if not add a little bit a WD-40 and that should do it then use brake cleaner to wash the WD-40 off

steel wool and oven cleaner works great, well atleast on my dads harley pipes. then go over it with scotch brite pad.

Never-dull will be good when it hasn't been ran with yet, if that stuffs burned on there try a brillo pad and some comet. Its going to take some effort too.

Brillo pad and comet sounds good because i need to pick some of that stuff up anyways because im in the process of painting my car. thanks
