Ok so i just bought a used act 2600 and streetlite flywheel with really low miles... pressure plate had a few heat spots but seemed ok. I installed it and now my car wont go into gear... IT will just grind. I tried an extended slave rod but that didnt help. I looked at my fork and its pushed all the way towards the drivers side even with the stock rod. Is my fork and pivot ball junk? or is it just a bad clutch?

Did you replace anything when you did the clutch change (or at least inspect the tob, tob clip, fork, fulcrum ball, slave)? If not, any one of them could be your problem.

Also, the extended slave rod is just a 'band-aid' fix for a problem somewhere else. Try adjusting your clutch under the dash if you think you need this extended rod.

Did you check to see if the used flywheel was stepped correctly? Is clutch adjusted properly?

you have to get under the dash and adjust the master cylynder. also check to make shure there are no leaks in the hydrolic system 1 small leak will mess you up big time

i guess ill try that but the fork is pushed all the way over to the passenger side which i heard was a bad ball and fork

So, is it the drivers side or passengers side? I would assume the passengers side since you're worried about it. If that is the case, check out RRE's info about shimming the fulcrum ball (it's all the way at the bottom):

RRE's Clutch And Flywheel Tech Info

If this really is the case and you have to drop the tranny again, I would say get all new OEM parts (that I listed in my last post) as this way you shouldn't have to worry about anything. And get rid of the extended slave rod.

I had this happen once when going from a shot stock clutch to a clutchmasters 2500. Shimming the fulcrum ball will help. I found that my slave cylinder was borderline functional and it just wouldn't hold the pressure of the stiffer pressure plate. After replacing it, bleeding the system, and adjusting the pedal under the dash the system worked much better. If your fulcrum ball is that worn you will have alot of play in the fork/ ball mounting point inside the bell housing. You will have to drop the trans if this is the case. Good luck.

thx for all the help guys i think im just gonna order a new fulcrum ball and fork and try that

Those are good things to buy but I would trouble shoot your hydrolic system first. Make sure it is you bleed it correctly and what not.

I've had similar problems and ended up replacing clutch fork, slave, and the pivot ball. But while doing it i put a washer on the pivot ball and put it back to gether and no more grinding (it wouldnt even go into gear before i did this).

So you may want to throw a washer on their while your at it.
