Ok my first question is.... I bought a new head and swapped my cams and gears over to the new head because the cam gears were broke on the other and I couldnt get them off. What is the Torquing method and what is the Ft-lbs.

keep in mind it is a stock head with a 3 angle valve job.
My second question is...I have 2g pistons(std) and 1g rods Already machined ready to be pressed. After I get this altogether and ready to go is there ANYTHING that I should be worried about? I have an S-AFC to tune my fuel and a Palm-logger. Will my knock me outrageous? or anything else? Thanks in advance for your help.:talon:

Well part one I can help you with part 2??? Anyway the cam caps are tourqed to 14-15 FT LBS and start at the center caps and work your way out. If you have a 1/4" tourqe wrench use it if not a 3/8" and be carefull. Do it about 3 times starting with 5 10 and then moving up to 15FT LBS.

As for the cam sprockts 56-72 FT LBS

18 FT lbs outer and 25ft lbs inner.accordding to all-data

That is quite incorrect; what inner and outer are you referring to? The bearing caps need to be torqued the same amount all the way around. Aside from being a soft aluminum that easily warps, an imbalance in torque would hold the camshafts out of balance, in a sense.
Torque is what tqmx1 stated. I find them to be 65ft-lb for the cam sprocket bolt and 14ft-lb for the bearing caps bolts.

That what All-data said so I was quoteing that.

Then All-Data is in error.

The factory spec is 14 to 15 ft lbs starting with the intake cam, timing belt side center cap then the flywheel side center cap then alternating out followed by the exhaust cam. They also say to make 2 or 3 passes torquing progressively.

There is no excuse at this point for people to not have the FSM in some flavor.

Working on your car without one is risking serious problems. It's too bad that the 90 manuals aren't online but you can find important sections for the later cars at the manual cd site and I suspect various torrents.

I have a haynes but couldnt find the torque specs.

Awesome! Thanks guys! I apreciate it! I got it done pretty quick...I went through one time with 10ft-lbs then 15ft-lbs. I really apreciate it. Does anyone have any input on my other question bout the 2g pistons? :talon::talon:
