is this a common problem? .. i just got my engine remanufactured it only has about 1500miles on it, went to get a oil change, they said I have a valve cover oil leak, luckily im warrantied, so i went to the place that did my engine, they took a look at it and said they cleaned it up, then for me to call them back after 3000miles, and if it still leaks they'll replace it, is this something serious or more of a minor problem?..

very minor you could have changed it in like ten minuets. its not hard at all. off the top of my head its 12 bolts. 4 of them are 10mm and the other 8 are 8mm. pull the wires off, unplug the pcv not hard at all

Easy to do and common. My girls 420a motor leaks in to the plug gallys still after 2 years or so on teh new valve cover gasket. Time to replace it AGAIN. first it was a cracked VC, now it's just gaskets going bad every 2 years :(

My valve cover gasket is still stock. It has been remove a few times and still doesn't leak. Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean, and you could even put some sealer on the gasket to help it not leak.
