This is an Idea I had and wanted to see what you guys think about it. In the Top left photo you will how my intake looks now. the photo to the left show my bumper and Im thinking about putting a dryer hose behind the vent in the bumper. the photo on the bottom left show part of the airbox and I was thinking about cutting off the bottom part and then bringing the dryer hose from the bumper and connecting it to the bottom of the airbox. the photo on the bottom right shows how it would look if I put half the airbox back in my engine bay. I know its not fully enclosed but it might direct more air where I want it to go. or I can just leave half of the airbox out and just run the dryer hose from the bumper and postion it under the filter. any thought on this idea are welcomed

not to bad of an idea. it serves the idea well. i would get a longer filter and try it get the very frount of it around that hole so it will be able to suck in all of that air coming from the hole and plus some. as u see with out the box the end of that plastic pipe the box was connected to looks like it could holdand fit in the frount of the filter well.:talon:

I remember when I first tried to install my cold air intake on my N/T 5 years ago...I was baffled:sosad:. Took me about 2 hours to install...never did anything to my car back then. Hydrolock was my next stepping stone, thank god my motor started that day.:toobad:

just a quick intake filter question. The autozone filter I was looking has an open front end so air can enter through the middle of the filter or the side of the filter. The AEM, Injen, and K&N Filters ive looked at were all closed front ends. Which type do you think would be better working? Here are photos of both types

They are just air filters, really. I mean, the engine operates under a vacuum and it is going to suck air in either way. I really wouldn't think you would see or feel ANY gains by picking one over the other.

At your current level of modification and power output the gain/decrease in power you would see between those filters will be negligible at best.
