Will this be ok? I have always used a -30-0-30 gauge.
Im getting an autometer 0-35 gauge for dirt cheap. So I was wondering If it will read accurate and is there a different way to hook it up?

Thanks

Hey....I've never used the 0-30, or 0-whatever gauge...but Im assuming these style gauges only monitor boost..no vacuum

The other one, e.g the -30-0-3- gauge, gives you a vacuum reading (at idle, or when you rev). I think its kinda handy simply because any type of fluctuations within your intake/vacuum system, would show on the gauge...

...our cars, at idle, typically sit at around 18-20 hg/in of vacuum, considering the base idle is correct.

IMHO, if you want that extra piece of monitoring (even tho its minimal), stick with -30-0-30 gauge...

To be honest, I wouldnt think the install would be any different, only because on regular boost gauges that do read vacuum, there's only one vacuum line that you have to hook up.
Either way, the install is the same. The gauge without a vacuum reading, probably has some sort of check valve or something that wont register any type of reading....unless its boost pressure

I second what Gutsi says, stick with what you have. The added insurance of knowing your vacum is a plus. It allows you the ability to notice a vacum leak that you may not notice just from looking and listening.

The best location is right in the intake elbow leading into the TB. That will give you boost pressure and no vacuum and shows exactly what the TB is seeing.
