I thought I've had a boost leak problem, after many test and many fix its, my car is still running like crap. I know the symptons are boost leak but could it be something else? Any time and gear i go more than 1/2 throttle w/boost they car boggs and cuts/jumps what ever you wanna call it. I just recently put a FMIC and Greddy type RS on. It was done correctly! Any suggestions i could try. Thanx fellas

I was having this same problem, but it turns out i was just getting to much fuel which was causing me to bog. You didn't put in bigger injectors did you? Also make sure your spark plugs are good and not fouled as that will also cause this kind of problem.

+1,
Boost leaks can be very tricky sometimes.
Whens the last time you changed your plugs and wires and fuel filter for that matter?
Did it start doing this after you put that stuff on?

Agreed and well said.

Describe how you performed the boost leak test. If the symptoms started after the IC/BOV upgrade then that is the most likely culprit.

Also, your profile shows a SAFC but no mention of larger fuel injectors . Do you have a logger to get an idea of what is going on?

If it is doing it under load then it could also be misfire. Check condition of plugs and wires. Make sure the plugs are gapped to .028"
Look for arc spots on the wires. Also make sure that there is no oil in the plug wells.

Well if you're bogging is because you're getting to much fuel. Please update your profile with ALL of the modifications you have done or at least list them here. You could still have a boost leak somewhere (esp if you're still running the stock BOV with more than 12PSI)

al right well lets see. Plugs and wire were changed about 2 months ago. Iriduim plugs/ngk wires. gaped correctly. Fuel filter was changed about the same time. I did not install larger injector..yet. I need to take a look at them ### I'm not sure if the previous owner did but i don't think so. I do no have a logger.

Boost leak test...I have a cuplink with a tire stem on it, took off intake pipe and put cuplink straight to turbo and hooked up air pressure. I have also tested just my 90 degree that has my bov on it that was leaking put fixed that leak.

How much pressure? How do you know it held?

The stock BOV could be leaking under boost. Replace it with a 1g. If you want to run a lot of boost, perform the Dodge Garage mod, it will hold anything you throw at it.

put about 10psi, based on my boost gauge. Its still leakin near my Bov. and I have a Greddy type RS. I'm just trying to find out other than a boost leak are these sympton to anything else?

Is it leaking between the BOV and flange or through the actual valve? If it's at the flange you can use a small amount of RTV between the flange and BOV to get a better seal.

It it's leaking through the valve then double check the install. Make sure the vacuum line from IM to BOV has no leaks. Also check the adjustment screw.

You really need to pressurize the intake higher than 10 psi. I would recommend about 20 psi. Most boost leaks only begin to leak above a certain pressure. So you could have a leak that you would not be able to detect at 10 psi.

+1,
I have the same bov and when I boost leak tested, "20psi" you could clearly see it was leaking through the top of the adjustment screw. Put some teflon tape on it and see if that helps, "If this is your problem."
I have a feeling your gonna have a few more leaks...;)

Boost leak aside, you said it's bogging at low RPM's and then bucking higher up? What boost are you set at and what's your A/F Ratio looking like?

i have a leak coming from somewhere....i can only hear it when i am @ full throttle and the turbo is 100%....dont think a leak test would help cause i still couldnt hear where it is coming from....any thoughts?

well nevermind bout the boost leak. one of my bolts that hold down the bov came loose. now i feel dumb. oh well it gone now. thanks everyone. i still have a problem with my fuel cut tho. when i mess with my mbc and turn up the boost i hit around 4000rpm @ full boost and it jolts real bad....any thoughts???? thanks

something similar happens to me with the maf -t i guess the sensor gets wet and messes things up.. it's been raining really hard over here and anything close to 15 + psi the car feels like i hit a brick wall.. but I think my problem is the intercooler soaking up too much water.. i hate portland,or :(
