If it happened so that I need to replace wheel hubs and axles on my 1997 GSX what would be the best choice except OEM parts? What is the best manufacturer and place to start looking?

OEM ftw! If you want to drop massive amounts of coin on your axles than there's Raxles among others, but those are for extremely high hp applications. I've always used stock axles and have never had to replace them more than a couple times throughout the car's life. Unless you have a crazy hp car you'll be best served buying OEM axles and putting your money elsewhere. I know it's not exactly the same car, but there's an EVO around here laying down over 1000whp and he's still on the stock axles.

I guess OEM is veeeery expensive  BTW what part numbers are for RR axles?

2 x MR455004 HUB ASSY,FR WHEEL
1 x MB937748 SHAFT ASSY,FR AXLE DRIVE,RH
1 x MR145597 SHAFT ASSY,FR AXLE DRIVE,LH

2 x MB892400 HUB ASSY,RR WHEEL
1 x ??? SHAFT ASSY,RR AXLE DRIVE,RH
1 x ??? SHAFT ASSY,RR AXLE DRIVE,LH

Just head down to Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts etc. and get an axle with a lifetime warranty.

Raxles was the only place I could get axles. Give them a call. The price will suprise you. The only catch is that he didn't do axles for ABS equipped vehicles last year.
