Transmission Bolt

Ok, I bought my Talon with a blown motor. The motor was already out of the car and in pieces when I got it. So here is my dilemma. I have gotten everything put back together and can't seem to find where the transmission bolt goes. The bolt is located under the starter. In my manual it says that it should go through the motor and into the transmission. However that hole is threaded and in my limited experience with cars most of the time the bolt goes away from the side that is threaded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.


Also, the car is a 90 talon tsi awd.

Hi the bolt goes through the block above the cross member, and threads into the transmission. The end of the bolt is a 12mm socket set. Its a tricky fit but you can do it, so thats where it goes. Good luck.

UMMMM the only transmission bolt that is a 12mm is the one that is directly above the transfer case and about 8 inches from the starter, it also threads into a dowel pin. above the 12 mm, are the two starter bolts, they are the longest bolts that are 14 mm.then after them there are two more shorter 14mm's under where the thermostat is. then there is a 14mm that is alittle shorter than the starter bolts and a little longer than the other 14mm that goes right in the front of the tranny near the slave cylinder
