Head gasket ?

First off im sending my block off to be bored decked and hot tanked. the head gasket im going to be putting on it the mitubishi 4 layer one. now ive heard that you need to machine your head down .002 to make this work. if this is true i was woundering if i could just get .001 taken off the block and .001 off the head?

you just have to make sure both surfaces are perfectly flat before using a metal head gasket.

get both mating surfaces, the head and the block decked flat. get some ARP Headstuds too.

just ordered the arp studs and the block andf head are getting machined right now thanks

the head gasket will be fine just make sure all surfaces are flat
