You should initialize it, set it up for a Karman sensor and rising voltage TPS and make sure that the corrections are all zeroed out.
If you have access to a wideband O2 sensor and logger you could use the SAFC with the stock injectors to tune the car and lean out the AFR at WOT from the rich factory settings on the high throttle settings

When you get bigger injectors to go with the 16G then you can make the base corrections on the low settings and go back and tune the car again on the high.

There are tons of posts and how to articles in the tech section. Reading them will help bootstrap you faster than asking a lot of question right now. Try and digest that data first.

That depends if the owner put the settings back to zero before they pulled it. When I pulled mine the other week to install DSMLink I forgot to put it back to stock.

Either way, I would just initialize the SAFC which will reset it back to factory defaults and you can start over. Then you just have to set the number of cylinders, sensor type, and the TPS trigger points. Leave the Lo and Hi Throttle maps set at zero and enjoy the pretty blue display. :p

Here is an install walk-through with pictures and you will also need the ECU pinout diagram for a 1g ECU. Keep in mind that the walk-through is for a 2g so the wire colors will not be the same. Also, do not hook up the purple wire to the knock sensor like it says in the directions. It doesn't work for our cars and they ended up retracting that statement on page 2 of the walk-through, that somehow disappeared about a year ago.

EDIT -> Ah, crap, Steve beat me to it. :)

thanks alot guys i was wondering about the counts of knock because i dont have a logger thats a shame it doesnt work :( and i will do some reading thanks again :)
