Ok guys. I just got my car back together. While it was apart I replaced the TOB with an OEM one. I also replaced the starter and installed a SS clutch line. I don't think these things are relevant but I figured I'd toss them in just in case.

PROBLEM: I was driving home and the car just died. I tried restarting it while still coasting and couldn't. The starter was turning the engine over but it would not sustain itself. Then, while still coasting, I tried to pop the clutch. Same thing, got some RPM's but it wouldn't sustain itself.

I kept trying to start it after I coasted to a stop but no luck. Even tried jumping it when the battery started to lose power.

My gas gauge is not functioning properly so I sorta bounced the car and listened for sloshing and didn't hear much. I am gonna put a bunch of gas in it tomorrow just to be sure I'm not out of gas. I didn't notice a sputter when it died and I think it has some gas in it. I really don't think it's that but it's worth a shot I guess.

A buddy of mine decided to test if there was any spark. He did this by sticking an allen wrench in my #1 Cylinder spark plug wire boot and grounding the other side. He then had me try to start the engine to see if he could see any electricity trying to arc between the allen wrench and the frame where it was grounded. He saw nothing and said this indicated that I'm not getting any spark. I don't really understand how this test works and don't know if it's valid.

Please help guys, I just want this damned thing to run. I've had to do so much just to get my drivability issues figured out. I was doing okay for a long time but now I'm seriously getting depressed here. :sosad::mad:WTF

My CAS was not bolted down all the way and fell off. I didn't notice it in the dark and didn't bother with the car because I was so pissed off for like a week.

I got it back together a while ago and that problem is fixed, only about 100,000 more to go but still. Just thought I'd update this for any poor sap who makes the same mistake as me.

Also, anybody who is wondering should know that if the CAS is in backwards your car will still run, just badly. It will basically shoot fire out your exhaust and intake ports, super-heating everything in your engine compartment and causing your exhaust to smoke after a few short blocks through the subdivision. So don't assume that because it's running you put the sensor on correctly.

Happy boosting all.

my car used to do the same thing and i had my dad look at it and he said that the cam position sensor was probably out. i got that replaced and now the car runs fine.
