Ok, so I dropped a 1 g head on a 2g body, built everything and have hit a few bumps along the way. This is one of the issues:

I have 2 female connectors. Can I just cut the plugs, match up the wires and hardwire them?

Then I find I have 3 of these female plugs. I found one plugs up to the Crank angle sensor, another plugs into the injector harness and theres a third one that I can't find a home for.

2nd pic is for the a/c. Of the plugs that look like that, the one with the longest wires should be for the a/c.

Hee hee! You said "do do"

Um, heres a weird question. If you still have the stock bottom end, shouldn't you still be using the crank angle sensor and plugging that back in.

Otherwise here

This picture shows how to make a 1g cam angel sensor talk to a 2g ECU.

**edit** From the pic of the TB I can tell you have a 90 head

In the first pic, it looks like the connector on the left is for the maf and the connector on the right is for the power transistor.

Do not bump your thread again, ever.

well, if I put up a question and it sits for a day and a half unanswered... what am I supposed to do? Let it get burried and hope someone scrapes it off the ground?

I'm a newbie to forum but certainly not to other forums. I've never had someone get upset because I bumped my thread. Its not like I was abusing it. If you still believe that what I did was outrageous enough for you to have to call my attention, then I apologize. But seriously... I hope this forum isn't anything like SUPRA FORUMS. geez

Back to the question,

On my first pic with the lesbian plugs, I realized the one on the left is for the MAF and plugged that in. The plug on the right of the pic I have not found a home for yet.

I will see if that triangular plug will fit the A/C unit tomorrow and take the wiring diagram pic to see if it makes sense on my setup.

Also, my alternator must be from a different gen since on the back I hooked the power wire without a problem but the plug has two pins and the harness on the car is a 4 pin. Any thoughts?

You obviously have not read the forum rules section, bumping is absolutely not allowed here. If the thread sat for days with no response, at least post some updates which shows that you did some researching on your own, don't just come back with "anything?" or "bump". In any case, your apology is accepted, just don't let it happen again. And no, I'm not upset, I'm just here to enforce the forum rules.

The plug on the right is for the power transistor.

Sorry, I don't have a good picture of it for you but its a black thing bolted to the intake manifold.

Do you mean the coil pack? I believe i already plugged that in... I'll double check though.

Ok here's a few more questions:

Here's a view of the back of the alternator. The only plug in the vicinity seems to be this 4 way connector but the alternator only has two. What now?

This 3 connector plug I have no clue where it goes.

This plug was hanging out by the brake fluid reservoir and again, I have no clue where it goes.

I'm not getting power to the fuel pump (I installed a Walbro 255) and when I switch on the ignition I don't have any power.
The two black wires you see in the pic are the ones that lead to the Pump. The pump is good because I tested it and its perfect.

I looked at a pinout of a 98 GSX (not my year, I'm 95) and it indicated that PIN # 8 was FUEL PUMP RELAY. I took a tester to it and found power when the ignition is switched on but it looks to be constant (meaning that after a few seconds of the ignition being on, it doesn't switch off). THis lead me to believe I was searching for the wrong wire.

The URL to the pinout is:

Image 2: Looks like the plug for the mdp (manifold differential pressure) sensor - there is not accomodations for it on a 1g intake manifold. Do some research to find out your options.

Image 3: Emissions solenoid. Even if you're ditching emissions, plug the solenoids in to avoid cel's.

Image 4: The fuel pump on 2g's doesn't get power until you're cranking the car. Just putting the key to the "on" position won't make the fuel pump turn on. On a side note, rewire the fuel pump if you haven't already.

What's the advantage of rewiring the fuel pump?

Thanks for the info on everything! :thumb:

ok, the car sounds like it wants to start. It almost seems like if fires all four in sequence but then bogs and repeats.

Here is the breakdown:
Car: 2g
Bottom end: 2g
Head:1g

I'm almost certain its me making a mistake with the plugs. Can anyone tell me exactly what to do about that 1g cam angle sensor since it doesn't really plug up to the 2g harness.

I got everything pretty much figured out but I still don't know what to do about the Alternator since the 2g plug has 4 wires and the 1g alternator only has 2 pins.
