its under the dash center section. remove the kick panel and you will see the ecu for the motor and behind that laying flat on the driveshaft hump is the TCU.

Both 1g's and 2g's have separate control units for the engine and transmission. The reason the 1g's have different ecu's for a auto and manual is the fact that the autos came factory equipped with smaller 390cc injectors. As stated, it is located directly behind the Engine ecu in a horizontal position.
That is due to the differences in the engines between the automatic and manual transmission 1Gs. So they have different ECUs and the automatic cars also have a TCU.MountainDew said:I know on 1gs there are specific "1G M/T Turbo ECU" "1G A/T Turbo ECU" etc.
