Well I just finished the complete timing job. I wanted to know if there was anyway to know if I did a good job. I didnt want start the car only to have a couple of valves bend on me:barf:
thanks

Just a hint, but if you turn it over by hand 12 times like I did:coy:...your lifters will be noisy for a minute until they pressurize. Scared the sh_t out of me the first time I heard it. I thought the valves were hitting the pistons.

Just a tip, if you remove the spark plugs, it will make it a lot easier to turn it over by hand. Just make sure that you put them back in before starting.

I remember when i timed my talon for the first time i was very concerned about starting the car. I did practically what everyone here has suggested, first i turned the motor by hand a bunch of time back and worth, then i went ahead and tried cranking the car but not let it start. Did it a few times so that the oil pump can bring some oil to the top since the car was sitting for a while. Then started it and everything was fine. Just make sure the #1 cilinder is at top dead and that all the marks align right and you shouldn't have any problems.

Good luck. Let us know how it went.
