Washington,
Hi all,

I have a '95 talon turbo. I know where to tap in the engine for the boost gauge source but how the HELL did you guys route it back to the a-pillar? I tried to bring the hoses thru the power steering boot and feed it up beside the fusebox to the a-pillar but no luck at all. Please advise- I've searched but all i've found is advise on where to tap for boost source.

Thanks in advance!

Meek

I just did this yesterday, except I was using a normal vacuum hose, not the skinny hard hoses provided with most boost gauges. I actually had to cut part of the dash off near the a-pillar (the cut is hidden under the a-pillar once it's on so no big deal). The easiest way to find the path the hose needs to take is to feed a piece of wire or something down from the top of the dash, then crawl under the dash and look for where the wire comes out. And yes, the steering column boot is the best place to pass the hose through from the engine bay.

mine actually runs through my steering boot...my gauges aren't on my a pillar but i remember drilling a whole in the upper firewall for my buddy's dtec wideband and boost gauge to fit through on his srt-4...i would take the dash off completely and start looking around...big_d :talon::laser::dsm:

+1 The opening between A pillar and the dash is large enough (depending on size of tubing used).

Ok, great- I just got it. In my old age i've gotten lazy. I took a coat hanger and routed it down from the a pillar to the fusebox. Lo- and behold, I was able to find an opening. I duct taped the nylon hose to the hanger and pulled it back up. I guess I should have done this before I idiotically drilled a hole in my dashboard. Idiotic.

Thanks again

Lol and now you can just route the rest of your wires you will have mounted, by using the vacuum line you already have :). First time's a bi*** the rest aren't so bad.

Check the tech article section on this site for wiring the gauge backlight to the dimmer.

BTW, I ran my vac. line through the steering column boot like many others. Only mod was to poke a hole in the boots with a screwdriver.
