is there something special i need to buy to get my power antenna to hook up to aftermarket radios/cd players. i have a new pioneer in my car. anyways i have like 4-5 hookups for stuff behind my cd player and they all look like antenna hookups but they dont all fit into my cd player. and i have never been able to have my antenna work right. thanks for any help.

Well personally I have never had a problem with any antenna jack in any car. And not fully aware of what your problem is, but most stereos there is a wire called remote, power, amp one of these three wires depending which stereo you have. This wire needs to be hooked up to your power lead for your antenna. Hopefully that helps.

I'm have the same problem, only it's because i don't know which wire on the OEM side is the power for the antenna motor. I used a wiring harness and all my wires are accounted for and yet my antenna has no power. I'm not to worried though... who the hell listens to the radio these days? j/k

To the OP... the actual antenna wire has nothing to do with the retraction or power part of it's function. What you're explaining would only effect the actual reception you'd be getting. Like JohnKramer said... your problem is not having the antenna 'Power' wire connected to the back or your Pioneer's 'antenna remote' wire. That's the wire that sends a signal to your retractable antenna's motor that says "the radio is on now... raise the antenna" or "the radio is off... lower the antenna"
