Long story short, started noticing starter making funny noises, fluid leaking out of driver side axle hole and after investigating, noticed that the top rear bolt for the tranny (top one closest to the 2 starter bolts) was missing. Replaced it but it won't tighten.

So i need to helicoil it, Does anyone know the size of the helicoil?

I got a new question for you guys. I finally got around to starting this today. Turns out the old bolt broke in there so i had to drill through it which explains why the new bolt was just bottoming out and not tightening. I got the drilling mostly done but i think i may need to drill out a bit more.

Before i do so, i wanted to find out if there are any oil or water passages behind there. This is the transmission bolt directly under the cam angle sensor in case it isn't clear.

Thanks guys!

Im not 100% on if there is a water jacket behind where that bolt is but there is probably one there. But don't quote mke on that, I would just treat it like there is one behind it, and be very careful...like your block depend's on it...wait, it might depend on it :) But no pressure now.

Also don't forget to chase the threads once your finished drilling it out, so that you don't mess up the threads by trying to tighten the bolt down with small metal shavings in the threads.

Yeah, it was confirmed to me that there is a water jacket back there...

Thanks for the reply!
