I Have a 98gst lightly moded, Driving home from work last night i threw a code. Got up early today ran to Advance Auto Parts to have them check it. He said my port wasnt working. I went to Autozone for a 2nd opinion and they confirmed that their reader wasnt reading my car. Well i went straight home and deicided to take out my battery for about a hour and a half,
to reset the ecu and clear the code, ( while i got ready for work ) came out and put the cables back on . Went to my ignition, turned to acc. All lights came on. Then turned too start it. heard a loud pop (relay?) and all lights went off and car died. had to go up front disconnect the ground wait 4 sec then out it back on. car would do the same exact thing. nothing electrical came on. after about 6 or 7 times doing this i could get anylights to come on. Any Ideas? Oh and how do i see what kind of code i threw if my port isnt working?

Thanks for the help!!

Nick

well... i sounds like you shorted something out... go through EVERY FUSE AND RELAY!! Do not skip any of them, no matter how minute... After that, if you dont find anything, then it might be a loose wire... that pop was probably a relay the fried because of a short...

check those and look around for loose wires... check the starter.. I have had some probs before with the nut comming loose off the wire, letting it dangle...
