Okay, im a noob. if what im looking for is here, i cant find it. so here goes. I have a 95 eclipse 5spd with a 420a. im not getting any fire, its not the ecu(i have five:) ) every fuse i can find on the car is good, and according to my multimeter my coil packs not getting a signal of an kind. If it helps it died after a burnout. PLEASE HELP!!!:sosad:

I'm not familiar with the 420a, but the next logical step would be to check where the coil pack gets its signal from....like crank or cam sensor.

I aloso am not familiar with a 420a motor but if there is a cam angle sensor on it, try that its expensive as hell if you buy it brand new but thhat might be the problem same thing happened to mine I tried everything in the firing system and then replaced that it fires right on up!

Im gonna put my money on the crank sensors. I also had the same problem yesterday on my 4g63 and after 3 hours of checking everything and everything checking out. I finnally realized im a dumb ass and the far right plug on the ecu wasn't pushed in far enough  Good luck, just check and double check everything!

when you say your not getting any fire, do your mean its not "firing" when the motor turns over, or did you hook up a spark tester and your not getting spark? Have you checked for fuel pressure or injector pulse? injector pulse will help narrow down the possibility of a bad CAS

well that could be the problem to but I doubt it, his just randomly stopped firing it has to be the CAS OF Crank, my 1st gens only have CAS so it should be that!

Check plugs and plug wires, if it isnt that, check compression. My 1g did the same thing, it would crank but not fire, but mine was because I slipped time and bent 6 intake valves, LOL.

He said that the coil packs weren't getting any signal, So why check the plugs and wires? Makes no sense at all. If the coil isn't getting a signal, you need to check where the signal comes from....duh!

Well first off, how many miles is on your timeing components? It may have very well skipped a tooth or two if your where doing a massive burnout. Something may just be old and worn out and came loose in the timeing area. But i had a problem like yours once and I checked everything and finally found out it was the crank sensor. Are you getting any cels? Oh BTW a new cranks sensor requires the pigtal connector for that plug. You have to cut your old one off and rewire it, very simple. Unless of course you find a good used one:thumb:

first of all, THANKS GUYS!!! i didnt expect so much help. anyway i just got through checking everything on this (insert random explitive here.) i had to tear EVERYTHING out of the engine bay, but it turns out it was just a bunch of broke wires. any one know where i can get a wiring harness without pay an arm or leg? apperently a loose battery can do a LOT of damage.
