That car is so sick, guess im going to have to make at least one trip to Canada once in my life. :thumb:

Just a little idea I have had in my head for awhile. Please by no means is this a fact, just an opinion:

We all know that there is a relation between the GVR4, DSM (eclipse, talon, laser), and the Evo, the 1st gens and GVR4 all appeared in 1990, the evo in 93, All 4g63t" (turbo models). All through out the 90's there were suttle modifications to motor and appearance in all the vehicles, but i noticed that we never recieved a USDM Evo untill 2003, maybe because of emmisions, or safty standards in the US, but i belive that the AWD turbo DSM's that we love, were the pretisesors and the trial for the USDM Evo VIII, notice that the 4G63t eclipse died in 99 and then the Evo was born to the states the next couple years, along with a pos eclipse.

Does this make sense to anyone else besides me?

Yes, but the Evo VIII that you guys have came out as a 2003 model.

Also I believe that Mitsubishi didn't really think there was any money to be made selling Evo's in the states until they saw how well the Impreza WRX had done, debuting in the 2000 model year.

Safety standards are why Evo's aren't imported into Canada though :notgood:
