I am fairly new to DSM's but have always loved them... much more familiar with honda/nissan... but I was wondering if there are ECU upgrades available-- such as using an ECU out of a different car like with a honda?? also I am currently running 17 PSI on a stock turbo... 2 1/2" exhaust, and a partial intake (filter)... need a racing clutch but aside from that--- what path should I take from here?

aceofriches- Don't listen to tkelly. He's just trying to mess with your head. Don't put a honda ecu in your car. Go for the Dsmlink and keep it simple. A lot of people on here have quite a bit of knowledge of Dsmlink and there is plenty of support on their forums as well.

Is how to do it yourself....

is how you can have someone else do it for you.

If you put a Honda ECU into your DSM I'd love to see it. I dig the CHROME stuff.

NEVER said I was gonna put a honda ECU in my car--- thats ignorant... I SAID that with hondas--- some ECU's are interchangeable such as an h23 accord to and F22 prelude w/adaptor---

I AM NOT STUPID just looking for advice--- if you wanna leave comments like that feal free to take it elseware

IF is the key word there. The Honda ECU is speed density, and with the CHROME/Uberdata stuff it can be very powerful. It's a step up from the DSM ECU, and, if you're really familiar with tuning Hondas, might be a good idea. I'd do the swap, but I don't have the time, $$, or energy.

I gave you a lot of good advice, check out those links for ECU tuning.

I guess the original question is do we swap out ECU's like in Hondas? No, all swapable DSM computers have the same limitations. What we (I guess you're included in that "we" now :D ) is modify the stock ECU's to do what we want them to do. Those links will either show you how to do it yourself (hard to do, but much cheaper), or how to use something that someone else has come up with (easier, but more $$). Much luck.

I think it would be too time consuming and unnecessary to use a honda ECU.... ill stick with DSMlink
