what's goin on guys. I just have a few questions. I have a 90 talon with n/a 4g63 engine. I have come across a complete used 91 eclipse turbo engine with the cyclone intake manifold for $1400. I was wondering if my n/a 5spd tranny will bolt up to it. also I know I will need an ecu from a 1g turbo'd eclipse. since I have a 90 will I need a complete harness or could I run separate wires from the ecu? I need opinions guys. I'd like to have a nice winter project.

Thanks

You might want to get a 91-94 turbo tranny for reliability purposes... 90 trannies are ehhh.

I dont have any experiance with the tranny deal. But as far as the harness it would be alot more worlk to just add the ecu wires. I am finishing my swap and swaping the whole harness really isnt that bad. (vs. adding wires) To add the wires correctly yould still have to do all the same work so you might as well swap. Its easer to deal with later problems that way.

If you use the N/A flywheel, your N/A transmission will work. If not, you need to use the turbo transmission. The coil has a different plug, on the 90 motor it is a square plug, later models have a triangular plug. In swapping a 91 motor into my brother's 90, we ran into harness differences on the driver's side of the center console under the dash and where the engine harness branches off to the passenger side of the vehicle by the dash speaker area. These harness differences are covered here: The 1990 Engine Control Wiring Harness in connectors C-58 and C-67. Without adding any wires, the car runs fine with '91 motor, engine harness, and ECU.

You might also read the Turbo-ing a N/T article here: Installing a turbo 4g63 into an nt 4g63. It has a lot of good information in it.
