Do you think that this turbo is still usable?

I am thinking of buying this turbo, the owner says that this is fine. The impeller had some tape go through it. Need some opinions on his opinion. What are the consequences of running like this? (I know I'm trying to convince him)

nope.

impeller will be off balance. It will tear up the bearings up in no time.

that thing is messed up. You might wanna buy it and see how much it would cost to get a new compressor wheel put on it. You'd have to have it rebalanced once you get that done, but it might be a good deal if you can get it cheap enough.

No way in hell you can throw that on your car now.

Wow, my first post... You might consider replacing the compressor wheel if, you can mark the "exact" positioning of the current compressor wheel, and there is the same if any balance work done to the new compressor wheel. Despite what may follow after this post, turbos can be rebuilt without balancing... as long as they do not need to be balanced they are fine. Case and point, I have an army of 14b turbos.

man...if your thinking of using until you get a new one, think again....because if you DO use then it will look a little something like this...

so i suggest you DO NOT use it and change it ASAP...people before have already mentioned not to but another voice doesnt hurt...

I would not even consider putting it on my car like that. He is trying to tell me that its fine he ran 25psi with it no prob, and it doesnt need replaced it works fine. Im trying to convince him that its no worth near what he is asking because it needs new hard parts (AKA) a comp. wheel. and a full rebuild.
