Ok so finally I got together all the parts I needed to begin assembling my motor.
So far the parts are:

Calico main and rod bearings
Eagle Rods
ARP head and main studs
Wiseco race ready dome pistons .20 over
Felpro rebuild gasket kit
Valves, springs and retainers from REV (portworks)
Cometic Head gasket
Schwitzer 76mm turbo
RC 750cc injectors

I might be leaving a couple of things out...

Please scroll down for resized pics!

Hopefully I'll be dropping the motor in sometime this week and getting the manifold made soon after. I'll post updates.

I would suggest resizing your pics before Defiant comes in here and raises hell. The size limit is 700x700 pixels. Just a friendly suggestion... The build looks great though! :thumb:

I was about to say the same thing.

Build looks like fun. Makes me want to get off my butt and finish my stroker. Whats your background on building engines?

I got ya back Danny. Manifold looks good on there.

This is actually the 1st 4g63 I've put together but I learned on a VQ35De where I made the rookie mistake of not torquing the heads down properly and using OEM headgaskets then tried to make a daily @ 540whp that only lasted me a few months. After that build I began working at a local speedshop where I learned to correct all the mistakes and actually have about 4 SRT builds, two Starion, and another VQ under my belt.

THanks for the resize David

Ok, I just ran into a little problem.

I had bought some RC 650cc injectors for my G35 but now I was going to use them on the DSM. However, the part of the RC injector what presses onto the head is much bigger than the OEM DSM injector. I thought injectors were pretty much universal in shape. Can anyone offer any insight?

I bought injectors which had to be put on a cnc to fit. they work just fine. i dont know how someone would know that they needed to be shaved down, but it works. Im guessing through trial and error until they fit snug into the head.

You might have to sell them or have them machined to fit but when you buy bigger injectors make sure there for your G35.... hah.

Hey guys, big update on my build. I jumped a few steps forward since I wanted to upload this video but the Manifold is on and so is the turbo. Here's a little clip of me spinning the wheel.

Wow... that filter is going to get you plenty of (sarcasm)nice(/sarcasm) pre-heated air from the engine bay and fresh from the radiator and intercooler. Gotta say, I'd pipe it somewhere else. Like the stock sidemount location, assuming you're going with short-route piping for the FMIC, and have a shield to cull any water if you live in a particularly rainy/puddly area.

Remember. Hot air is good for fuel economy because it makes LESS power. The slightly increased intake system volume of an intake pipe will not matter... if you're pulling in nice, cold ambient air, you will make MUCH more power than already heat-soaked air. Never understood the lack of thought that makes people strap a filter right to their turbo. Unless that's just to keep junk from getting into it until you can get an intake pipe, or fabricate one.

Relax killer, I'm designing the layout. It will get relocated. No need to put 2 paragraphs together full of sarcasm to get a tiny point across. Thank you, come again! :D

When you hang around here for long enough, you stop taking things for granted... and every nail needs a sledgehammer to make /sure/ it goes in. :D

not all injectors are the same(universal) in shape...i have a set of rc1000cc for an s2k, a set of rc1000s for my srt4 and they are both different in shape...the s2k's being smaller in size where goin into the fuel rail and the intake mani...try selling the ones you have and pick up a set specifically for your car...

I like how each picture is a time laps of the surface rust forming on the ex manifold LOL. Good build though, can't wait to see a video of this thing. I really like the wastegate routing.

Looks like it's gonna be a beast. :thumb:
What Ex Man is that?

Rev-Hard... $220

I had to squash the down pipe for it to clear the alternator.

I have no idea why Rev-Hard decided to place a 38mm wastegate flange on the bottom side of the manifold when it should have been placed on the opposite side (top). I hope I don't get boost creep since the wastegate piping is a little long.
