I am currently changing my timing belt and i am about to install the new belt, however, i cannot locate the timing mark on the crank pulley. Can someone please help me.

If it is on a 6 bolt, then the marks are notches on the outermost edge of the pulley. One notch is on the outside of the belt track, the other on the inside. Take and rub a rag along the outer edge of the pulley to clean it off so they can be clearly seen.

You need to install the new belt with the crank pulley off, line up the timing mark on the front case with the v cut in the timing plate located between your balance shaft gear and timing belt gear.

Make sure the cam dowel pins are pointing in the 12 o'clock position.

sorry to bring this back up, but i have the crank pulley back installed on my 6 bolt. all four bolts are in, but there is on smaller hole there too. does this have to be lined up with something? does it matter? thanks

yes, there is a pin in the crank sprocket, they need to be lined up because the crank pulley is weighted.

You have probably pushed the little dowel inside the timing belt pulley. If you tightened the accessory pulley onto the the timing belt pulley without making sure the dowel was inside the alignment hole then you simply pushed it into the timing belt pulley. No harm done.
