Side skirt question

Has anyone ever removed the door panel that follows the skirt on the stock 2gb's (possibly the 2ga's too?), but left the actual skirts? I was curious as to see what it would look like..

Hey it's funny you ask, the one on my drives side broke and it looked weird...the car is too curvey and round, then a blocky chunck is all of a sudden missing. In my opinion, it looks weird.
