I was wondering since my CAS failed the other day and my car wont start if I could have another problem because of the way my car died....I know that when the CAS fails the car will continue to run in a "predictive" state from the last injector pulse....but my car started acting up maybe three days before my car died so I doesnt look like it could be the CAS alone. A few days ago I was driving my friend home and my car started to jerk alittle bit and my rpms would jump up and down and I would backfire and smell unburnt fuel.....That says spark/ignitor problem. I did this ever once in a while (maybe 2-3 times in a day of driving). Then the last day It was having trouble holding idle, It would idle really low and even die on startup. My main question is that if it were the CAS then when the CAS actually failed the car wouldnt start back up....I never had a problem with the car starting until the engine actually died (while I was pulling into my street luckly) and wouldnt start back up....If it were the CAS alone then the engine wouldnt have died and would have been "ok" until I got it home and tried to restart the engine right? Or could it have been that It failed sometime on the drive home and when I pulled into the street the rpms dropped too low and the car died. Hints it wouldnt start up again?
What should I go about in checking for failures? Iv already pulled my DTC's, tried changing my Transistor, My COP setup is fairly new and am not sure if that has failed also.
Are there specific pins to the ecu that relate to the CAS directly that I can check for loose wires?
