I was driving my car hard one day and i start to hear a rattleing noise. The noise came and went for about a month after it started making the noise, then it started making a clanking noise like somting is hitting my rotors. I cant really pinpoint the sound but it kinda sounds like its from front right of the car. It only makes the sound when the cars moving and at higher rpms(about 3000+). I checked if anything could be loose and i found that my rear brake pads are loose and when i bang on my tires i can hear the brake pads rattle. I havent replace my brakes since i gotten this awd body and droped my engine into it. Im going to replace them tomorrow and see if it fixes that rattle/clanking. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Does it do it with the clutch in?

Any gear?

Can you hear it in neutral with the clutch out?

How about turning the car off and coasting in neutral? Is it still there?

Check over in the drivetrain forums... a bunch of us are fighting a similar problem and there are several posts on it.

it still makes the sound with the clutch in,and it happens in every gear at around 3k and higher. if i put it in neutral it will still make the sound, but i havent tried with engine off. it dosent seem to mater what rpms im in when im in neutral so i think its the engine load causing vibration and making something rattle. i just replaced my front brake pads and still makes the sound. my rear pads come in tomorrow and those are the ones that i notticed that are loose rattles if i hit my tire, but the rattle sounds like from the front when im driving. my car sounds like a pos because of this little problem. need suggestions please
