I drove my car home finally after fixing my "holey" exhaust and trying to fix the clutch pedal problems (welded assembly, adjusted pedal, STILL barely disengages clutch by the way)
and when I got to my road, I accelerated up to about 3000 to 3500 rpm and then all of a sudden my rpms dropped way down, so i down shifted and kept going home.

that night i was worried so i got back in my car and drove around, I noticed at certain rpms it would sputter and lower in rpm, probably around 25-3000 rpm. When i parked it, it was misfiring and eventually stalled. It starts right up easy but misfires. And i think it always was kind of misfiring anyway after I installed the new spark plugs. I gapped them to .028 and it ran aweful so i gapped them to what the old champions were at which was like 50 and it ran quite a bit better. I'm scared that I broke some teeth on the timing belt, and I was fearing that the most, this doesnt sound like the timing does it? because it still starts right up and runs, it just misfires a little, and almost stalls if I dont press the pedal down further.

Ahhhh!

Oh and sometimes I noticed like 3 dash warning lights would flash on for a quick second while it would sputter or bog while driving.

Go through and check all of the parts associated with the ignition. Your spark plugs could be bad even if they are relatively new. The wires could have to much resistance due to being old and crappy. And the other pieces could be on there way out. Its worth making sure this stuff is in working order anyways.

Diagnostics 101. Isolate the problem. Just because the part is new does not actually mean it's any good. If you break teeth on your timing belt, you aren't going anywhere and incidentally if you don't know how old it is, change it. Do all the stuff associated with it also. Look at the plug wires where they go into the head to see if any white splotches are on the insulator. This would indicate a burn through which can cause misfire. Do a boost leak test. Ask Oldman how that's done. Last but not least, you might have a PCM dying. That's computer for the lay person.

Good Luck

alright we did a whole bunch of tests. There were several boost leaks, such as the smic being corroded into little holes from aluminum corrosion, and an intake pipe being completely disconnected. Theres also some exposed wire on the plug wires that shocked my friend. heh. After fixing a few boost leaks, i drove it home, at first it bucked and sputtered but after about 3 minutes it ran beautifully. I know i need to replace a bunch of things since its so old so I'll get to it when funds are available.

Also about the dash lights blinking, that could mean your alternator is going. Do you have all the proper heat shields where they are suppose to be because heat is what causes the alternator to go bad. I think the alternator is located right in the front even on a 6 bolt but i could be wrong.
