I did some searching on this subject and seems like every post kind of gets of the subject of the actual title. I was originally all set on gettin an evo 3 16g but I was on slowboys website and they have the TO4B v-trim for 700 they claim this turbo flows enough air for up to 600 horsepwer, its seems like most people get about 400-420 at most. I will running FMIC, 272 cams, wastegate dump, full 3" exhaust, 650cc injectors, dsmlink, arp head studs, and either a 190 0r 255 fuel pump. I'm looking for aobut 350 whp maybe closer to 400whp. Basically I'm asking if I making the right decision going with TO4B instead of the EVO3?

If your looking for ~400 whp, is this on pump or race gas? If its on pump, personally I'd probably skip both turbos. While with a good tune its possible to make those numbers with both turbos, they will both be close to their limits for the average tuner. There is no way your going to get anywears close to 600 hp with a vtrim. Expect closer to evoIII performance out of it, with a good amount slower spool & abit more top end. Have heard more then a few complain about lag with the vtrim & surge as well. Personally I'd just go for the 50 trim & be done with it for your goals, then you have some room to play with in the future, if your goals change.

As a side note, in that dyno test SBR did awhile back, I believe the evoIII actually made more power vs the vtrim.

SBR made 401hp on a vtrim on the dyno and I think the big 16g was close to that but not quite. SBR has the dyno run for that vtrim on their site. I don't see that turbo putting out much more than that though to be honest.

OKay so if i was to go with the SBR g50, how would spool time be related to the v-trim and also what size injectors would i be looking at now I'm ordering my turbo tmrw so i need to decide what I want today, LOL.

Well ended up just ordering a ported sbr g50 last night along with some brian crower 272s, and a set of arp headstuds.I thinking like 850 or 950 injectors as i will be running dsmlink.

If you are going larger than 850's...just skip the 950's and go to 1000's. They cost about the same.

i.e. 850 and less are ~$275 and 950 and 1000 are ~$295. DSMLink has no problems using any of the three.

Do you have e85 where you live. If so I would get 1000's also. Because you will need them if you ever think of converting to e85. Buddy here in my town is running more boost and timing with e85 than he could with 120 octane fuel. Running high 10's on a 2.0 and a t67.

Well i looked up closet station is 55 miles from me, guess I never really looked into it. What is is invovled in running e85 and how long would it last sitting in my garage in cans LOL?

dude i have an e3 16g and i just got my bullseye v trim, i got it for 300 bucks and its in great shape, the e3 feels like a turd now just skip it its kinda a pain to keep upgrading, ive first hand felt this turbo on a gsx with everything, he had an e3 than 50 trim, and honestly the 50 trim scared the hell out me, like i had to change my underwear...its all in your supporting mods and a good tune, dont expect to slap on anything and make 600 hp, it takes alot of time and alot of money, but do it right man get the v trim

Um, a little late, aren't we? He already stated that he ordered a Slowboy g50, so he'll be making more power than a v-trim, and on pump gas.
