so i have a built 6 bolt swap in my 95 talon, been running it for a few weeks, and got it somewhat hot a few times, but not recently. today i was checking my coolant and i had the nice chocolate milk substance in my t-stat housing. i changed my oil last weekend but i only hand tightened my filter, so i dont think i crushed the sandwich by the oil filter. could this be my headgasket or something else?

word, i just dont understand why there would be oil in the coolant but no coolant in the oil.

it's your oil cooler for sure man we just dealt with this in our swap we put a non turbo oil filter housing on problem solved

I wouldnt do that, the turbo models need a way to cool the oil, whether it be a water cooler, or air cooler. Just buy a 90 style housing and an external oil cooler and never worry about it again.

If you don't find a problem with the oil cooler you would have a crack in your block or head letting oil in your coolant and that would suck.

yeah, no shit that would suck. im gonna go with trying the oil filter housing first, and then move on to the more expensive things.

would the car run bad if the oil filter housing went out, or would it just act the same?

If it winds not being your oil filter housing than definately check your headgasket out. Everytime that I have had to change a headgasket because it went bad I have had the nasty looking chocolate milk oil thing going on, and the car ran kind of crappy when it happened.

The Oil runs at a much higher psi so... Obviously it MAY be your Head Gasket with the few "run hots" you mentioned but what I did was remove the Oil Filter Housing Stud & cut it off shorter when I deleted the POS Water to Oil Cooler - Then I reinstalled the Filter straight to the OFH like a real setup - You could do that as a quick 'Test" - SOON you'll want an Air to Oil Cooler - BTW those female Allen Pipe Plugs in the OFH are LOCTITED in the OFH - You MUST heat them with a Torch to breakdown the Loctite or you'll be off on another Fiasco, maybe even rip the OFH right off the Block~! - Good Luck & DON"T kill that 6 Bolt~!

thanks for all the good advice. As of right now the car is just sitting, i look to start work on it this week, so i will be on here often and may be sending out some pm's for specific questions i have.

ok so i actually crawled underneath the car and noticed the two coolant lines going to my oil filter housing. can i just disconnect these two lines and connect them together, bypassing the ofh? just as a test to see if that is my problem?
