Here's the deal. Im getting a deal on a 99 spyder with a potential blown block. My friend said his girlfriend hit something which dented and caused a leak in the oil pan. The alternator belt was shredded and when I checked for shaft play the turbine wouldn't budge. What I really need is opinions. Do you guys think that if I replace all this that its possible that the block might be good? I have a 6bolt in the machince shop ready to go but I wont be ready to install it for awhile until I get some funds. Do you think its worth it to purchase a new belt and an oil pan? I already have the turbo.

If it ran completely out of oil, thats about all it is....a block. However, since the 7 bolts are notorious for crank walk, the block may not be any good. But for the price of an alternator belt and a junk yard oil pan, what the hell? Give it a shot. Maybe it will run until you get that 6 bolt stuffed in it. :talon:

try it out it could work. If you need a 7 bolt block pm me i have one off a 1995 gst.

+1
Replace what you need to and see how she runs. Hopefully it will run well enough to get you around town until you get your 6 bolt ready. :thumb:

Yup I thought thats what I should do. Im going to replace everything and see how she runs. Not really worried about crankwalk, especially on a 99 but then again it wouldn't matter if it was a 95. I just need it to hold me over for maybe less then a month. I'll update this thread and let you guys know how it goes and what condition it's in if it does work *cross fingers*
