Well I bought this motor, said came from a 95 eclipse. I know it will drop right in my 96 talon no problem.
My problem is I dont know what all is missing off of it, as i have a shell with no motor to to get what i need off of it. The picture above looks like i am missing a CAS, and some sensors in the thermostat housing along with a piece on the thermo houseing its self. and a TB. Can anyone tell me what goes on that empty spot where the valve cover meets the head?

So basically all i will need to do is find this plug that goes in there and all will be well there. There are two plugs that are on the timing belt side. I know there is a crank angle sensor over there, and one should be my CAS. is that those two plugs?

The '95 and '96 2g motors have the CAS under the intake cam pulley (a bit toward the exhaust side). If you look at that end of the motor, you should see a sensor support bolted to the head with 2 bolts that you can't remove without pulling the intake cam pulley off.

The crankshaft sensor is a bit above the centerline of the crankshaft pulley and on the intake side. Its support is also 2 bolts.

Once I look, and hopefully I'll find those and realize it is a 2ga head. What will i do where that hole is on the other side where CAS would be for a 2gb or 1g. Just purchase the block off plate?

All I can find for this in my manualCD for 95-96 4G63s is called "circular packing". They call the half-moon seal that you'd replace along with a VC gasket "semicircular packing", so I'm thinking this is the part. But it sure looks like the 2gb CAS was bolted on there. Maybe they put a 2gb head on that motor at some point.

If you could post a picture of the front of the motor (timing belt side), that'd probably help, too.

I got with the guy i bought the motor from he said he kept that plug, and i looked on the timing belt side and found the cas. So I just need to get a part number for that piece and go over to the dealer, or somwhere that would have that. All junkyards have around here are 1g's and 2g n/ts :(
