after long consideration, I have decided get a centerforce dual friction clutch but my question is: with this clutch being stiffer than the stock clutch should I get a extended slave cylinder clutch rod instead of using the stock cylinder rod? I also am replacing my rear main seal because it was leaking, the person that installed it last time cocked it sideways when they installed it.

I would for sure get the rod i did a after market clutch in a friends car the other day and it would NOT work without it.

I would urge you to replace the fork and pivot ball while you are in there. I didn't and just shimed the pivot ball. It worked for awhile. Then I started having engagement issues. I just finished dropping the tranny for the third time to replace all that stuff. You will also want to look at shimming the pivot ball.

The extendo rod is a bandaid. I would try to find the real problem and fix it.be it a fork and ball or the hydraulics or the pedal assy. the rod will eat up tob like keeping your foot on the pedal nonstop. just my $.02

The pivot ball screws into the tranny. Imagine 1500lbs of pressure on a pivot point being cycled say once a mile for 100,000 miles. The ball wears into the fork and the more wear = more tiny chuncks of metal to eat even more of a hole away. Kinda like erosion. As the hole gets deeper shimming the ball gets less effective. It will to a point of wear that to engage the clutch completely it will have to pop the fork off the ball because the fork hits the bellhousing. For $65 replace it and dont worry about pulling out a tranny twice.
