OK so im only asking this because i havent driven my car forever and i forget if this is normal.

I threw megasquirt in my car. having it run on fuel only.
stock PNP turbo
No major mods.

Cars running great so far.
Only question I have is:

When im in 5th and cruising at like 2000 rpm and I stomp on the gas, car goes nowhere but it starts building boost.
from the time it takes to get from 2000 rpm to around 3000 the car has made upwards of 12+psi

then around 3100-3300 rpm
The car takes off like a bat outta hell, like as if i flipped a switch.

And the boost shoots up to 15-16 where i have it set.

Its almost like a studderbox building boost at the line, but while im moving.

Is this normal?
Or am i running rich as hell in lower rpm's causing this??

It sounds like your clutch might be slipping.

well if your in 5th at 2 grand and stomp the gas you probly arent going to go anywere being that it is over drive and the gear ratios are very different, or is this a NEW issue

clutch is brand new 2600.
if it was the clutch the rpms would shoot up the rpms go up slowly but its gaining boost then at the 3000 ish mark the car takes off

What 2000 rpms in 5th gear. what is that like 50mph maybe. I don't know about you but that is really low for that hear and would hint why you aren't going anywhere. I'm sure its starts building boost but the gear ratio is so low in 5th at that speed you are well out of the power band for that gear. 3000 rpms is more useable by 5th because you are at a much higher speed. If your clutch was slipping then you wouldn't be able to grip at higher speeds

I think 3000 in 5th is about 65mph-and 80mph

You're not going off the stock boost gauge are you? If the car is taking off after about 3300 rpm, that's perfectly normal. Your turbo is pretty much just relaxing anywhere below 3000 rpm.

like is said bro, out of every stick i have owned they dont move in over drive until i hit 4 grand or so, that why yours wont move, until 3,500 because thats when your boost kicks in, do this. when your at 2 grans in fifth drop down to 3rd and your car will move

I just find it weird that it will boost up to 10 when im not going anywhere.
