Hi,
My car is having a problem with high rpm like 2k-3k at idle. In order, to keep it low like 1.5k I have to retard the CAS all the way (I don't know that's good or not), and screw the BISS screw all the way in. Could anyone tell me what can I do make the rpm lower ?

I did a compression test and fixed all the leaks but it didn't help at all. Also adjusted throttle cable too.

Car: 97 Eagle Talon TSi with 6 bolt block, 2g tranny

Thanks
V

Thank you so much for all your help guys.

I finally figured out the problem. The current rpm at idle is 900 rpm.
What I did was change the 1g TPS to 2g TPS and I changed the bottom half of the 1g throttle body to the 2g :). It solved my problem.
Just to update the information. I set the CAS to show 5 degree with the BISS all the way down and the rpm at idle is 1.5k

thanks

im having this same problem, start car from cold and it idles 3k until its full temp then settles to 2k. if i retard timing all the way it sits nice a 900rpm... but then i have no power at all... and BISS is all the way in.. and my ISC reads 31 across the board

its a 6bolt in a 2g also

That's not a good idea don't retard your timing all the way down because it will overheat your engine overload

hmmm blocked off the fiav but not the ISC and it dropped off about 600rpm... i'm running 1400 rpm idle now, which isn't perfect but still a lot better

I will do another boost leak test.

Before when I did the boost leak test I didn't know this is normal or not but I noticed air coming out of the oil stick and the valve cover breather (a little hole on the size of the valve cover)

Its normal if you did the test from your turbo inlet (bet you heard oil gurgling in your pan too). Start closest to the TB and work your way back.:rocks:
