I ran a search on Unorthodox Lightened Pullies. There are mixed reviews because of it lacking a dampner and SBR offering one for $300. For $300 I can get a full set of pullies. I found that they are only for 95-99. What about for us 6 bolt guys? Or are they the same?

Heres the deal with underdrive pulleys in comparison to damper pullies. During combustion the crank flexes a bit even on a minute scale, but still happens, and if you have , well say an unorthodox pulley on there, there is nothing to suppress this "waving" in the crank. The last thing that will absorb anythig this is the bearings, which in turn leads to premature bearing failure. Yes, the UNO pulley will make more power and rev faster, but whats the point if youll have failure down the road. Go either OEM or ATI.

Fluidamper? Cheaper alternative to the ATI.

Somewhat. The ATI has a custom hub that actually bolts to the crank gear via the crank bolt which makes it absorb the vibrations much more effectively. The fludampr will work well too, but for the money, you might as well drop another 100 or so and get the ATI witch is much better, or just stick with the OEM for a lesser price.

For all us noobs please explain and tell us where to purchase...

ATI

Fluidampner?

I don't want to upset you SBR Joe, I as well as many others appreciate you and your companies contribution to the DSM scene. But a meber on the boards here is using full set of UNO pullies who is generating around 500awdhp and for 5,000 miles he has no complaints. My goals are around 350-400 and this is my DD so how fast can the failure pre-mature? Is there anyway to tell that failure is imment?

Im not saying that by running these pullies with result in imment distruction, but after time it takes its toll. I know alot of people that have had these pulleys on their car and were fine, Curt Brown always runs them and said hes never had any issues with them, but i have seen on some cars, mostly 420a carsand SRT-4's that had oil pump failure due to the fact the were running underdrive pulleys. Damage wont occur immediately, especially on a 100% balanced engine, and is possible that it wont occur for a while, but does have a bit more of a negative effect over the damper pullies. I cant say with personal experience because i have heard many mixed reviews and didnt want to take my chances for a few more crank hp..and just stuck with damper pullies.

Heres a link to both pullies

ATI

Fluidampr
