Howdy folks! Ive been rebuilding my 90 LaserRS for the past few months, and Ive been debating getting my entire head rebuilt. The car smokes blue at idle and Ive checked my compression and get at least 160psi on all four. Ive also had a mechanic take a look at it and we come to the conclusion to just replace the valve seals for now. Ive seen the custom tool in the archives but was wondering if any fellow dsm'rs in my area already have one. I live in Fenton MO and i always see several DSMr comrades around! Any help with this would be apprectiated. Thanks! :)

I live in New Castle, IN and I am also looking for one.......I would be fine with just purchasing one though.......Thanks Rich

use a 6-8" c clamp and a socket with a side cut out to get to the retainers. Find a deep well socket that will fit on the top of the spring

Thanks for the feedback...Kinda sounds like the VFAQ version in which the socket would need to be welded.... But thanks though

Thanks for the help! :) Im going to make the one in the vfaq. My dad's got the weldin skills. Funny though nobody believes when i tell them generic spring compressors wont work on our heads. Its great to have such resources for our cars. I love this site! Let the good times roll! Peace! :thumb:
