VERY PISSED,

So I go to pick up my car today after getting the 6 bolt swap. and Im driving along and my car dies, the alternator goes out on me, Now when I went to drop off the car the alternator was fine, no problems, now its shot, It cost me 125 bucks to get it towed, Plus I have to get a new alternator,
question is Should the shop pay for atleast the tow fee, I would like for them to pay for the new alternator but that might be to much,

also anyone know the simplest way to remove the alternator???
vfaq has one but its for a 1g

Pretty much the same for a 2G, it's in the same spot IIRC. Just remember to take out the A/C radiator fan, it makes pulling the alt MUCH easier with that extra couple inches of clearance.

It's the same alternator, AFAIK. If you can, try and find the 90 amp alternator from the Galant/Canadian DSM models. Stock replacement only provides 75amp, which is okay, but definitely not stellar, especially if you like running the fan on max while listening to the stereo up loud.

Personaly -- i always remove the drivers side motor mount and jack the motor up for extra room between the alt and sub-frame rail Not somthing you need to do , its just how i do it.

today Im going to put my a new battery in there and see what happens, Im praying that its the battery not holding a charge. ill post back, if that doesnt work ill take the alternator off.

Just a thought Could the shop have messed something up when they did the 6 bolt swap. What should I be checking for, blown fuse, wires not connected all the way???

Our underpowered P.O.S. alternators fail routinely. sorry about your luck but it happens.
If you buy a reman, expect to replace it annually. I keep spare alternators in the garage because:
A) the reman unit will fail.

B) the parts store will tell you the alternator is not in stock and have to order the replacement.

Heat kills.....

Ok heres another thing, I get a new altternator a 90 amp alt, Well I figure ok I better change the belt, so I get a belt from autozone notice when putting it on Damn this is tight as hell. I had the alt all the way up and it still wouldnt go on, i finally shimmy it on and get everything back together and start up the car and it starts but Has a hard time running. it keeps bogging down. So i look at the belt box and it says NISSAN 3.0.
So my question is Would the wrong belt cause to much pressure on the alternator to not work correctly
