i dont know about their response time but I received my kit pretty fast and tons of guys here have that kit. I would say wait for a bit and then maybe file it to paypal.

I sent an e-mail to them on May 11th and got a response stating they were out of stock and won't be getting any back in for about 60 days. This might also be why you haven't heard anything.

Even if they were out of stock why wouldn't they get back with me?

Their customer service is horible, period, the end. I got mine 3 days from when I ordered it last January. Just wait it out and if they don't get back to you or ship you a kit then file a paypal claim.

Yeah, they make some good (and bad) stuff... but don't expect any type of service from them. I love my FMIC Kit, they shipped fast and had the best packaging I had ever seen. Once you pay them, don't expect much. I'm sure they'll get the product to you.

Them NOT getting back to you via email, or taking forever to at least, is normal.
There are posts about them not having stock of the pipes, or something with the factory in Asia having some fire incident. So that could be the reason why.
When I ordered mine they were slow to respond, I asked for the tracking number, and they never replied until AFTER I already received it.. which by the way was very fast.

Don't quote me on this, I'm going on hearsay... I've heard about their turbos falling apart, something about being glued together...
Anyone know about this?
Again, I have no firsthand proof, this is just what I overheard...Take it and do with it what you will

Yea, but not all of them, and this thread is not about that, I'm surprised you havn't heard their FMICs are perhaps the best for the price.

I realized what this thread was a/b after I posted... all I saw at first was the company name...
lol, I've heard to buy E-bay FMICs, but never really looked into it... my car had one when I bought it, and I could pick up a stock Evo FMIC for $100... why do I need e-bay

Because you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about... and the FMIC from Ebay is about 1/2 the price of other companies sometimes even 1/3. The SSA FMIC Puts the evo one to shame, just on share size it is about twice as big. And not to mention it comes with all the IC piping flanged for a 1G BOV and its short route piping. So thus this is why it is a good deal and it also comes with T-Bolt Clamps.
Before you do another post I suggest you do research before you make yourself look worst than right now.

Indeed, I would not pay what companies are asking for FMIC's($1k+)... I have a local shop to do my FMIC, for ~$50... and the EVO FMIC would be sufficient to run on a DD...

You are planning to run a 50 trim on a Evo FMIC? I wish you serious luck because many of the guys are having issues running their Stock Evo 16g Turbos without getting them heat soaked. But each to their own. I mean to me 350 is worth it for all the stuff i mentioned with mandrel bent ic piping. But who knows what you are into. I am all into performance, so I will agree to disagree with you.
As you can see from my mods list I have several cars and even my daily driver is more modded than people's performance cars. So maybe my opinion doesnt count.

I never came in here to argue... I came in here with the intentions of warning someone of buying a product that I don't feel has any bit of quality (SS turbos)... I then realized it was about FMICs... You have repeatedly attacked me and my plans...
I wish you to know some of the cars I've tuned and raced:
1991 Dodge Stealth
1991 Eagle Talon Tsi (FWD)
1991 Eagle Talon Tsi(AWD)
Some I've Tuned/modified:
1995 Acura Integra GSR
2002 Honda S2000
1994 CRX With B18C swap
1996 Civic EX with turbo
plus a porsche 944 (old skool)
I was also able to push my 14b to 22.3psi on the streets with my current setup, it wasn't intentional, but I managed to do it for almost a year before realizing how off my gauges were (6psi... was supposed to be pushing 16.5 psi)
I'm not asking for trouble, nor have I questioned your intelligence... ### do not do the same to me, we agree to disagree... THX

Hey Bud sorry that you feel that I am attacking you, I just stated facts on what is common knowledge to us up in MA, But Tuning is different depending on altitude and temperature. I have no intention to knock you or your plans. I also just said I agreed to disagree with you because my mentality is different than yours.
I have also tuned several other cars one also being a 91 3000GT VR4, a 91 Talon TSI AWD, 95 TSI AWD, 95 GST, and my brothers 95 240SX with a KAT.
Other cars I have helped with include my friend's Evo 8 that ran a 11.5 on a stock turbo stock block no nitrous, 04 WRX, 02 WRX, 00 WRX. As well as helping my friend with his 91 Teg with a Type R Swap. As well as several other DSMs here that run in the low 12s.
I was just trying to throw my knowledge in here about ebay intercoolers, hell do a search and there is a huge thread on it. And there is also a thread here on why Evo FMICs arent really that good for a performance minded person. BUt hell what do I know?

Here is the big thread about EBAY intercoolers that EvolvingGST mentions.. the "bible thread":
http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237530
As for the EVO 8/9 FMIC, I too have read some threads about it, but I can't recall the information on it, but they do exist, a search should bring them up.
I too would be skeptical about its performance, as far as dealing with heat soaking.
Before my SSAC 2g kit, I had the greddy 24row with the maze like piping. And the size of the core on the greddy kit I know is much bigger than the EVO 8/9 fmic. I ran it with a big16g which would let me have a few good runs, with my 50trim, it heat soaked fairly quickly. So I don't know how the EVO 8/9 could be better than that. But of course I don't have any experience with it like I do with the Greddy.
Before the mark up of the SSAC kit, it was only $295 shipped, even before then, when it wasn't popular, you could get it for $250 shipped.
If you are lucky enough to get an EVO 8/9 core for $100 and make the piping for $50, I guess that wouldn't be too bad. But are they not averaging more?
Not to mention, the SSAC kit comes with 2 bolt clamps, 4ply silicone couplers, super short route 2.5" polished finished beaded piping. It's really hard to beat.

It's all good man, I just wanted to protect my accomplishments and make sure you didn't think I was trying to quarrel with you over the issue...
I was unaware that the SSautochrome FMICs were good/recommended, but I'll check out that thread.
Yes, the Evo FMICs usually run a/b $350 here... I just happen to know someone who is in serious financial trouble (and I'm not...[sarcasm]) and he has to sell all his stuff...
Let's see, I picked up an AWD Talon, 3" exhaust, a whole bunch of stock parts, rebuild bottom end, and getting heads rebuilt (free), all for $600... The guy had one of the fastest Talons around here... He got himself in debt, put it stock, and sold it... picked up this Talon uber cheap, and was going to reapply mods, but is neck-deep in debt... so he sold it to me uber cheap...
Oh, and after much research and contemplation, I've come to the conclusion that I'll run neither 50-trim I have here... I'll end up selling them and buying a new turbo (one of these turbos is fine, one needs rebuilt, they're just not up to my goals...)
