alright real quick my setup is basically all this 93 tsi with a six bolt swap
ported 20g
arp headstuds
3 inch exhaust
supra pump, sx regulator, fuel lines
adjustable cam gears
safc and 550's
2g mas
buschur fmic
tial external wastegate on o2 housing
edit-act2600 clutch
currently im running 20psi and i'm agains tthe limits of the 550s pretty bad

either i was going with 680s and fp cams either 1 or 2's not sure yet

or dsmlink with 950cc's why 950s? because i plan on getting a bigger turbo eventually as well as pushing pump gas to its limit

i really dont like the safc i think i might be able to get more out of dsmlink and a good tune but then again im always tempted to say i want a mean idle just for the hell of it and buy cams.

I should also say this i go to the track and run my car once every two weeks and sometimes every week. so whichever i get im going to actually use.

You are pushing the limits of your fuel injectors. With the 20G i'd go 700+cc injectors. That would mean that you have to ditch the safc and go dsmlink, or eprom ecu + chip. If you have the money and a laptop go dsmlink IMO, then some cams and GM MAS blow-thru setup FTW. Yeah, psi for 550s shouldn't go beyond 18-19psi. And you haven't had any sweet fuel cut yet?

haha yeah some. i bumped up my fuel pressure to 50 to try to squeak 20 psi by. but i dont want it there for long so. dsmlink it is probably. i just dream of 4g63s with cams all day, it sucks.

I'd recommend going with DSMLink and holding off on the cams. They might sound more aggressive at idle, but Link will let the car drive better and put out gobs more power.

AS has been said DSM link is the way to go. :thumb:

Performance is 10% parts, 90% tuning and DSM link has tuning on lock

Add some injectors and have a blast cams come later :D

Bumping fuel pressure for a bit more headroom is good.. But not to 50psi base pressure.. At 20psi you are at 70psi pressure.. Ouch.

Well I will say from your mods you can definitely benefit with cams since you are running a 20g but the problem is you are running small injectors to use it to the full potential of the turbo. And it is common knowledge that SAFCs dont like much over 680cc injectors, so thus I would have to say get a DSMlink with 950 injectors are good I think. Bigger than a 20G?

Well each to their own, but you should be able to run atleast high 10s with the turbo if you get cams, tuned it right and drove correctly.

thank you for your replies guys. dsmlink is the way.

the reason im upgrading the turbo is more because the previous owner ran it with with bad bearings, both sides of the compressor and exhaust side has nicks in all the blades. i threw 100 rebuild kit in it unbalanced and basically just running it until it dies. I'm not sure what turbo i'll go with, or maybe try to pickup a good used one.

good choice.

Once you get the hang of tuning with dsmlink you'll be thankful you bought it.
