Ok, I have a question I'm running about 360 whp on a 95 gst and its the stock clutch right now and I don't think it's doing the job good enough. I am trying to decide whether I want to put either a 2100 or a 2600 in it. I think the 2100 will do the job but is the 2600 as streetable as the 2100 because this is my daily driver so i need a clutch that isn't too jerky.

ACT 2600 with street disc would work perfect. Could go with a 2100 with a sprung 6 puck but it isn't as streetable....That is the 4th time today I have answered a what clutch question by the way. Feel free to search the forums from time to time.

I agree. 2600 and street disc FTW,

A 2100 with a 6 puck has been known to hold over 400ft/lbs on fwd cars. Paul (99 GST_Racer) did it for a very long time on his car.

Ok, I did search a little while but no one was comparing the two directly. So it sounds like I should just go with the 2600. Thanks, i just didn't know that the 2100 probably wouldn't hold as well on the street.

:( I do agree the 2600 is the way to go, but do ya'll think that more stress is put on the drivetrain components?

I am in this issue right now with my evo. ACT HD w/street disc or exedy twin :(

I currently use Act 2600+ there street disc, with current profile 50 trim all mods, 96 Gst.

Works great hella grip, streetable, won't last on the track though.

A Dozen FWD passes will burn it up fairly well due to the amount of slipping FWD needs for a good launch. :dsm:

I made the switch to a 2600 a couple of months ago, its very very streetable but i must say, in all seriousness. i was getting leg cramps the first three weeks after I made the switch. I would wake up in the middle of the night because my calf was contracting!

i haven't got a single complaint about my 2600 w/street disc.

Man, not much love for the 2100 on this thread....

I was actually using a 3 year old street disk with my 2100 PP. It held anything I ever threw at it.

On that note, I would highly recommend the 2100/street disk combo for any GST making 350 ft/lbs TQ or less.

I'm currently running a 2300 lb. pressure plate with a 6-puck, ceramic padded, sprung hub disk, and I expect this to hold every bit of 400-450 ft/lbs TQ that I'll be aiming to make. One of the largest misconceptions in the clutch market these days is that you need a huge pressure plate. In many cases, bigger is not better at all.

You need to know your torque output, not horsepower. Also, please fill out your vehicle profile so we can offer more accurate advice on parts suggestions.

Sorry for old thread but thought better than starting a new one.
I am looking to upgrading my clutch while I have it torn apart. OR should I wait for my current clutch to die. LOL

I see mixed opinions on which clutch/disc to get. I am leaning towards act 2600 with street disc.
Is this still the best option or is there a better options etc.
Also is this the best place to pick it up? also going to get a SS clutch line.
