I have an 91 Auto 2.0L N/T Laser , and just installed an Injen Intake kit on it today. Now, i'm hearing all these new noises...

When the car is running, around 1500rpms, I hear this clicking/buzzing noice what seems to be coming from somewhere around the exhaust manifold, but not sure.

Another one, that is really noticable, is a sorta wooshing, almost grindy noise from around the intake manifold (it seems) when i turn the car off. Is this just becasue I'm sucking more air in now, making it sound like that when the car shuts off compared to the stock set up?

I just don't know. This was way harder to put in that a civic intake, way more clearance issues. I feel I got the couplers fitted good and tight. The car seems to run fine while I'm driving. Kinda seems to bog, for now, maybe from the exposed filter, but I'll see how that goes. will probably build some walls around it soon. and my car already had an idle issue i can't figure out any so....

Just hoping to find some advice. esspecially for the noise when it's shutting off. i'm just hoping that it's normal, cause it seems like it might be. thanks in advance.

the wooshing noise sounds fine, after i did my intake and shut off the car it does the same thing. more like a compression escape from the intak mani correct? and since you have a 1g engine that means you have the huge MAF correct if you put in a short ram or CAI did you forget about the MAF sensor? what was your application

yea, i figured the wooooshing was something like that. my MAF is plugged in. I have the Injen Intake pipe for 89-94 Eclipse 2.0L N/T and the filter that allows the MAF to be clamped directly on/in it. so yes, my maf is plugged in. i'm not sure where my bad idle is coming from though. i checked my idle speed control motor with a multimeter and got all the correct readings, but haven't done the 6v battery test yet. i might have bad gaps on the spark plugs i put in a few months ago as well. or the O2 sensor maybe. i hate getting bad city gas mileage becasue of this bad idle though.:notgood:

Here is a picture of the intake on my 91 Laser. I just bought it used yesterday through dsmtuners classifieds.

the biggest problem with a bad idle is that it can be caused by SO many things. everything from a MAF down to a leaking valve stem seal. also have you noticed if it smells like it is running rich, or even do you have a C/E light on. the only thing i can say my friend is check everything you can, unplug all your sensors one by one while starting the car for each one, try to figure out if you notice a difference. if that fails. try getting some carb cleaner and pop off the filter pipe and spray a lil in while reving the engine, it will try to stall its normal. if that fails look into your ignition a lil closer testing for the right resistance on the coils and right plug gap. also you said you heard tiking noise, check your wires to make sure theres no cracks in them causeing a leaking spark. and make sure not to forget about checking to see if you have a dirty fuel filter or a lil clogged fuel line. try some of these and let me know
