as the title says, my brake fluid resevoir is cracked and im jsut wondering if i should buy a new one before i put more fluid in or if i could get by with a cracked one. when i say cracked i mean like 2-3 cm from the bottom of the threads, it screws on nice and tight but it is still cracked on both sides. also wondering if i could put wildwood hi-temp brake fluid in. no idea what is in my car now. thanx!!:thumb:

Replace it. Shouldn't even be a question. It's your brakes.

Brakes are one thing you don't want to take a chance with. I would even go so far as to suggest that you flush your brake fluid before you put the nice fluid in. Old fluid may be contaminated and that decreases the boiling temp.

if i were to flush my brakes, would i do that the same as bleeding them, jsut until all hte fluid is out of each line? or is there an easier way?

When i put in my new brake fluid (Motul RBF600), i flushed it out with some new cheap(er) dot 4 fluid first, just to be sure. I just bled the brakes as usual, then when the fluid came out clear, i flushed THAT fluid out and replaced it with the motul. and yes REPLACE your cap. take no chances.
