what is the normal operating pressure for the 2g eclipse oil pump?

my newly built stroked motor is making some noise which sounds like the hyd lifters. my after market autometer oil press gauge is sitting around 25 on cold start up and then drops to zero. when i rev the engine the oil pres goes up but then drops back down..

is my pump bad? I think i am not getting any oil to my lifters which is causing the noise..

I dropped the oil and did not find any flakes just metal dust from the rebuild..

I did not change the oil pump because when i pulled the motor it only had 52k miles on it.

what else could it be

does anybody know the oil pressure for a 2g eclipse

cold start?
warm at idle?
and
cruising pressure?

tony, one question, arte you teeing the oil feed from the turbo off a port on the oil pump, and are you teeing into that for the guage too? that can cause inaccurate readings.

And did you bleed the air out of the lifters.. also, some people on the german boards have had problems with poorly machined 3g lifters.

i did not tee it off..I used a serperate port for the aftermarket gauge..it worked fine...I think my oil mump just went to shisse,(crap)..

I will be ordering a new pump

let me know when it comes in.. id pull the oil pan and all the parts that are in the way now if i were you ..and put it on jackstands in the garage --that way the installl will go in no time
