Rear seal and oil separator

The oil separator presses in, but with finger pressure. What keeps it in place with the oil hole at the bottom, and not from spinning/rattling around with vibration?

Also, do you press the rear seal all the way in (I'm guessing yes).

Any other hints to make sure this thing won't leak?
