well i have found a 1990 laser donor car for my talon.

It just needs fuel pump\ has a ceized rear brake.

Both cars turbo, Laser is FWD, Talon is AWD

So 2 questions;

1) Can i use talon fuel pump on laser?

2) can i use a rear brake for an awd talon on the laser rear(FWD)?

thanks:)

Even with the difference in ways of taking the fuel pumps out
ie) talon coming out through the lil plate in the rear of the trunk, and laser having to drop tank slightly? Thats still the same pump? Remember AWD talon FWD laser....

and I know for the talon it is a '92
VIN 4E3BT64U6NE026217
Year/Make/Model: 1992 EAGLE TALON TSI AWD

I get that when i do the cheapo car fax report so.

This info would be greatly appreciated...thanks :)

the donor car, approx 1200, only reason i am asking about these parts is it is about 500 miles from me and am hoping to drive, instead of car dolly the car back.

Just makes it easier to get here.

The rear calipers are the same from 4/89 to 5/92, and then the rears for 6/92 to 94 are the same. The diference in the two caliper designs is the size, diameter, of the piston in the caliper. Despite the rear calipers being changed in 92 the rear pads and rotors are the same from 90 - 94.

Last time I looks there was a difference in the size of the rear caliper between AWD and FWD. You would have to check CAPS to see if there was also a difference between 90 and 91+ like Cs4g63 said.

Regardless, just buy an new pump and caliper but be prepared that changing the pump might damage the assembly and hard fuel line when you try and remove it. That would be a big problem for your plan to drive the car back.

Your right I completely forgot about the AWD.
The AWD rear calipers are the same from 4/89 to 4/90. Then from 5/90 to 94 the rear calipers are the same. Again the diference is the size of the piston. The rear pads and rotors are still the same from 4/89 to 94 though.

Fuel pump form a 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD will work in a 1990 Laser RS-T?
The fuel pump assembly and pumps are different between AWD and FWD.
Removing a AWD pump assembly on a 1G can be a highly risky operation depending on how rusted the hold down bolts are.

Please go read the fuel pump VFAQs so you have a better idea what's involved.

You dont have to drop the tank on FWD to get the fuel pump. Its in a tight spot but its do-able. Dont snap off your hold down bolts on the AWD; thats a can of worms.
