Okay, I've put off fixing the car for some time, and looked at it the other day, thinking I needed a new crank pulley. I ordered the part, and went to put it on a second ago, and it's not that pulley. I have a pulley that's wobbling right now, which you can see from looking down on the engine. From the diagrams I've looked at, it appears to be a tensioner pulley. Standing from the driver's side of the car, it's to the right of the alternator pulley, and above the crank pulley. There's 4 little bolts holding it in there, and looks like it runs 2 smaller belts. Can anyone help identify this for me, I don't know why I'm being such an idiot about this. My initial thoughts were that this was the water pump, which could be now since I managed to find a big coolant leak on my way to the garage to work. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.....:(

Thanks for the replies guys! I've called the guy that's going to replace it for me, and have it scheduled to drop off Thursday. Going to be $240, and I'll just use the new crank pulley I got also so I don't have to worry about the balancer going out in it. It will be a relief to get this fixed :)

$240? OMG That would buy you a whole set of tools!!!! What's wrong with doing it yourself? If you found coolant leaks in the vicinity, it's going to take more than a new pulley and $240.

I've already got the water pump to be replaced. According to some of the other shops that I've called, the $240 isn't bad. I'm going to have all of my belts replaced, the water pump, and timing/balance shaft bets also. I've attempted at one point to try this myself, and probably could, but it's going to take some time, and to me, the $240 is worth the time it will take me to do it myself.

If $240 is for timing belt and water pump, it's a good price, I thought it was only for changing the waterpump pulley. For me, doing things for myself isn't for saving money, it's for assuring that it's done right, I wouldn't let a shop do my timing belt even if it was free, that includes the stealership.

If I was a little more confortable with working on it and not messing up the timing etc.. I would do it, but I don't right now. The guy doing it is someone here in town that works only on DSM's and is the go to guy for repair or any other work on them. I wouldn't just take it anywhere for something like that, and do appreciate you guys looking out :)
