I just got a turbo and side mount intercooler for my 94 eclipse non turbo. This summer i plan on having it all finished. The turbo and side mount came out of a 91 eclipse. But what i am not sure about is how to check the turbo to make sure its ok. He said it ran fine but id like to be able to check the turbo out before i get any further and find out its bad. Any help on how to check it i would be thankful. Thanks!

First, check for shaft play. Grab the nut on the compressor side, and wiggle it up and down. A LITTLE up and down is ok. Not try to move it in and out. There should be NO play this way.

If that checks out, you should be ok.....besides the shaft seal, which needs to have oil to it to check.

Ok thanks guys. Also Mitsured420... When you said that it should spin freely, how free? like if i whip it with my finger should it keep spinning? because mine does not do that. Thanks
